Finder right-click actions

A few useful commands, right where your files are.

Need a blank text file in this folder? Or a path you can paste into a message? Add those actions to Finder's right-click menu and keep working where you are.

In this demo, a blank text file is created and renamed in Finder. A configured Terminal action then opens the current folder.

Add the commands you use

Click OD in the menu bar and open Finder Extension.
Use Open Finder Extensions to enable OmniDock in macOS, then turn on Enable in OmniDock. Follow any folder-access prompts.
Choose the blank file types and commands you want to see. Use Choose App to add an app under Quick Actions.
Open a supported folder in Finder and right-click a file or empty space to see the available actions.

If creating a file prompts for access, choose that folder or its parent. Copying a path doesn't require permission to write a file.

Small jobs you can do from the menu

Create a blank file: pick one of the file types you've enabled.
Copy a path: copy one item's path or paths for several selected items.
See hidden items: reveal them in Finder, then hide them again when you're done.
Open with a chosen app: send selected items to an app you've added. With no selection, the action uses the current folder.

Don't see the menu in a cloud folder?

Finder decides where extensions can show commands. OmniDock works within Finder Sync and the folders it has access to; some cloud folders managed through File Provider won't expose these menus.

First check that the extension is enabled, then try a supported local folder. If it works there but not in your cloud folder, that folder may not support the extension. The Support page has more troubleshooting steps.
