Help and setup
OmniDock Support
Get OmniDock running, review the permissions it uses, and resolve common Dock preview or shortcut issues.
Getting started
Launch OmniDock, then open the menu bar item labeled OD. Settings let you control Dock window previews, repeated-click hide or bring-forward behavior, optional minimize and restore behavior, per-app shortcuts, and permission status.
System permissions
OmniDock may ask for the following macOS permissions:
- Accessibility: identify Dock items and focus, raise, hide, or close windows when you request it.
- Input Monitoring: detect clicks on Dock app icons on macOS versions that require this permission.
- Screen Recording: create window thumbnails, including live previews and one-time static snapshots.
Review or change these permissions in System Settings under Privacy & Security.
Dock previews or click actions stopped working
- Quit and reopen OmniDock.
- Confirm the required permissions are enabled for OmniDock.
- If macOS still blocks the feature, remove OmniDock from the affected permission list and add it again.
- Make sure the installed app is running from
/Applications/OmniDock.app.
A per-app shortcut does not register
- Use a shortcut that includes Command, Control, or Option.
- Avoid browser tab navigation shortcuts and common macOS menu shortcuts.
- Remove any duplicate shortcut already assigned inside OmniDock.
- Reopen OmniDock after changing system permissions.
